What are the prognostic indicators of pancreatitis?

Glasgow Prognostic Criteria of Acute Pancreatitis:

Assessed in first 48 hours

Variable  / Cut-off Value

Age over 55 years

WBC > 15 x 10 9 / l

Urea    (after resuscitation)> 16 mmol / l

Blood glucose > 10 mmols / l

Serum Calcium < 2.0 mmols / l

Serum Albumin< 32 g / l

Pa O2 < 8 kPa (60 mmHG)

Serum LDH> 600 IU / l

Mild = 0 to 2 Moderate = 3 to 4   (15% mortality)   Severe = 5 or 6   (> 50% mortality)

 CT scanning - Severity index of Balthazar
